For the fourth time in five meetings this season, the Summit High School volleyball team claimed a victory against Franklin in the District 10-AAA tournament Sunday. The No. 2-seeded Spartans advanced to Monday's league championship for the first time after a 25-22, 25-12, 25-23 victory.
Summit senior Maggie Kalisz talked about what this win meant for their team and the challenge of playing one team five times in the regular season.
"It's our first time coming this far in districts," Kalisz said. "We have a possibility for our first banner in the gym. This one means that we automatically go into regionals, which we'd never done before."
